Well, what can I say!I contacted Mr Charles Plumley of Newport Imports when I saw that he specialised in American vehicles. I live in France and had an RV to part exchange.As I live in the centre of France I needed to deal with someone I felt confident with.We agreed a deal and I made the 450 mile trip to Calais with my RV to meet Mr Plumley in the UK. He even agreed to meet me near the port to finalise the deal. When I came down to compare a Challenger, Mustang and Camaro, I was made welcome and allowed to look over them at my leisure. Any questions I had were answered in a way showing the interest and knowledge of Newport Imports. No pressure was put on me, just friendly advice. I chose the Challenger as it had real presence, and is capable of carrying five. It is a joy to drive, with so much torque, over a wide rev range, that you rarely need to change gear in normal use. When wanted the power is phenomenal with a soundtrack to die for. I use it as an everyday driver, and it draws a lot of positive interest.

II decided that when I retired I would use part of my pension pot to fulfil a lifelong dream to own a Ford Mustang. Having searched the web I was impressed with Newport Imports service and attracted immediately to a Vapor Grey GT Coupe of which I'm now the proud owner. When I visited Newport Imports, having made the long drive up from Penzance, I found Matt very helpful and full of info on the Mustang, the test drive settled it and the deal was done! I wanted some customising done and Matt quickly arranged this so I was soon able to be driving the 'Stang back to Cornwall where now it regularly turns heads resulting in several near accidents where drivers have taken their eyes of the road. One guy went straight across a mini-roundabout and up a kerb when totally distracted! I would imagine for many of us just looking at fully cleaned and prepared U.S. vehicles without a gravel car park in sight and sales people who actually do care that we get all the right information and technical answers to our obviously very frequent and tedious questions would be enough, but be warned, they go much further than this, CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their customer service is absolutely outstanding, with what appears to be total customer satisfaction (at any cost) one of their main objectives. That said, may I say a big thank you to Matt and Charles for everything they did for me. The one big question has to be though, would I buy another vehicle from Newport-Imports? YOU BET I WOULD ! ! !

Once I had made the decision to go for an American Import, I found Newport Imports on the internet and gave them a call. They were really helpful and friendly and had a number of vehicles of interest and invited me down to have a look for myself. The F150 was just what I was looking for and I settled a deal straight away. The guys were really swift in getting the vehicle ready with a new MOT etc and I collected my pride and joy a week later in tip top condition. All of my friends and neighbours have commented on what a beauty she is (I like to think also due to the many hours I have spent detailing the body since I got it) and I enjoy every minute behind the wheel. First class service, price and experience. We had been using a 2007 discovery to tow our 3.5 tonne boat + trailer around the country, this vehicle struggled sometimes and it was in our best interests to find a more suitable vehicle for the job. We finally agreed to get an American truck, due to severe increase in power and towing potential. We are ecstatic with our new Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi due to the sheer lack of effort it needs to shift our boat around. Very pleased with Matt's help and will be eager for the new model to be released for a potential trade in !

I purchased a Dodge Ram Viper from Newport Imports in October and I can't fault any part of that process. I checked out the website and saw the vehicle I wanted but as I live over 100 miles away I had to trust Newport's description over the phone and the images on the website, I didn't want a wasted journey. It was also important to me that I could exchange my Mitsubishi for the Viper in one day and all documentation was completed, this was done and I left as a happy Dodge owner. Re: ’08 Ford Mustang Bullitt To All Concerned! I must start by saying what an absolute pleasure it was to purchase my new car at Newport Imports! Courtesy, respect, no BS, no hard sale! Just a relaxed, yet professional atmosphere, always willing to help and answer any and every question. Excellent aftercare and references in relation to insurance companies and other registration requirements. A great showroom, impeccably clean, with all Cars/Trucks/SUV’s new and used, gleaming and ready to test drive! Matt and Charles take great care to get everything right, even down to the smallest details. This I must add with a realistic and patient approach. Matt does a great job in sales and as several other customers have mentioned, always returns calls and emails – nothing is too much trouble and all issues are dealt with and rectified from pre-sale to ownership. I would just like to write what a pleasant experience purchasing this car was - from the first phone call enquiry to picking up the finished vehicle. My husband and I purchased our first American car in 1977 and from then on we were hooked and have only driven yanks ever since . I emailed Newport Imports about a Camaro that they had on their website, and got a phone call back within 30 seconds! Having decided upon a Mustang, I needed to choose which precise model; Saleen, Roush, Shelby etc. I also had to choose a dealer, ideally, one local to me, (Preston, Lancs). I would like to take some time to thank everyone at Newport Imports for the first class service i was provided with when purchasing my new 2008 mustang California special. They made the whole process very simple without any of the usual risk when importing a new vehicle. The way it looks, how it sounds and most importantly the way it handles are all so fantastic I really would find it difficult to get back behind the wheel of a boring euro box. I most liked the way I wasn't made to feel that as I'm of the female type the only horse power I'd be interested in would be the four legged variety. I prefer at least 300 (or more) under my hood. After a small delay with the registration (which was communicated and explained well to me by the sales staff) I received my Mustang. The car did not come with the Shaker 1000 stereo I wanted but the sales staff arranged for a more than adequate custom replacement to be fitted. They also arranged for the installation of the Thatcham Cat 2 alarm I needed. The Car is fantastic and the stereo is "ear-shattering"....only thing missing is the 20" rims I am saving up for.......

I found Shaun a pleasure to deal with. From my first visit to Newport Imports to the day I collected my car, my experience has been one of dealing with a highly professional company. There was never any heavy selling and I was left to make my own choice between the Ford F150 and a Dodge Ram 1500. Having had my new Ram for 3 weeks now, I know I made the right choice! For sometime we have been searching for an American truck and living in the North of the Country I was reluctant to look at vehicles in the South of England. I discovered the Newport Imports website by accident and they had a Ford F150 Lariat which met my specification. Arrangements were made to visit their premises. We were greeted by Shaun, an extremely open and friendly person. It was apparent right from the beginning of our conversation there was absolutely no pressure on me to buy and nothing was too much trouble for him. After our test drive I must have bored him silly with my questions, but he took the time and patience to answer all of them in detail. We decided to buy the truck and because of the distance we were travelling we gave them a very tight timescale to have some minor scratches removed plus a full valet, all of which was completed to our satisfaction. It was essential that we were kept fully informed of the progress of the work being completed as we were arranging to travel by public transport to Newport Imports premises to collect the truck. Shaun continually telephoned us to keep us fully informed of the situation. Since we have bought the truck the level of service has continued at an exceptionally high level, queries about parts are dealt with very quickly, helpful information on how to fit them is given quite freely, totally different to some other suppliers of Imported vehicles. I would recommend anyone thinking of purchasing an American vehicle to visit Newport Imports you will not be disappointed. Shaun and Charles at Newport are both very nice people to deal with and top guys when it comes to imported American vehicles.

The SSR is the second vehicle I have purchased from Newport Imports. The first a 2000 model Harley truck I still own has now covered over 170,000 miles and works every day in our busy custom Harley shop. Both vehicles were sourced by Newport Imports to my specification. The service provided was totally professional but also with a personal touch. I have recommended several friends to Newport Imports who have also received a similar service and have nothing but praise for the operation. The SSR has now covered 10,000 faultless miles in just on 3 months and I am over the moon with it. I am absolutely "over the moon" with my new toy! the Harley F150 SuperCharge Pick Up. It is everything that I expected and more. Over the years I have purchased from a number of top marque dealers so I have a lot to compare Newport Imports with. From the start of the negotiations I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Charles and Shaun. They know the vehicles they sell very well. They are likeable and easy to do business with. There was nothing that was too much trouble for them. I checked the vehicle back in with them to have some additional works done and their attention to customer care remained of a very high standard . The Dodge has attracted a lot of admiring glances. This vehicle is vulgar, ridiculously proportioned & utterly insane,- & I love it. I'm quite surprised at how docile it is when driving gently, & how quickly it changes character when you hit the loud pedal. It has covered just over 1000 miles now & I'm about to start putting it out for evaluation with our engineering staff, - the sensible ones. We were happy with the delivery time of the vehicle compared to the time we would have had to wait for the same spec vehicle from another source, although there was a premium for this. I'm also pleased that Newport has agreed to assist with any subsequent inquiries regarding servicing, aftercare & any warranty issues.

The experience of purchasing an imported car is a so simple , in fact there is no differance to walking into any car dealership , with regads to buying an american vehicle , class cars , great value for money real head turners definatly go back to the lads at newport and buy again .

I rather fancied a Mustang after seeing one demonstrated on Top Gear. After test driving Newport Imports demonstration Mustang I had to have one.Newport Imports located the very model and colour I wanted immediately, so obviously their contacts in America are very reliable.The whole process was so straight forward, their manner and paper work were impeccable, their delivery date was spot on and the coffee was good too.I would recommend this eager to please and keen company to anyone

As far as comments go, as I said earlier I prefer using it more than my ferrari, and you have given me the service that you promised when we first met, and as a customer I can ask no more than that.

Contacted several importers initially and Newport Imports immediately stood out in terms of knowledge and enthusiasm. Very informative, making the whole ordering process simple and efficient. Naturally there was a lead-time for a new model in high demand, however this was made much easier to bear by Newport's regular updates, where they resisted the common temptation to give over-optimistic delivery forecasts. In fact, in the end I received the vehicle a week earlier that anticipated. SVA, licensing, tracker installation etc had been dealt with swiftly as soon as the car arrived in the UK and all that was left for me to do was turn up and drive away. Encountered a minor electrical fault within a few days of ownership - an auto-electrician was despatched the following day from Maidenhead to fix the problem on-site at my workplace in Bournemouth (covered by warranty, of course). Can't ask for much better than that! As a long-standing customer of Audi and a great admirer of their customer service I would say that thus far Newport have proved to be every bit as efficient but with the added advantage of a more personalized service that one often encounters from smaller companies. Don't be put off by perceived difficulties in importing an American car... leave all that to Newport Imports and you will find the whole process every bit as easy as buying from any standard UK dealership. Plus you then get to ditch your dull euro-box and drive off in a real machine!

I wanted to find out about the Company Car commercial vehicle rating of the Dodge Ram and contacted Shaun at Newport Imports. He gave me the detail that I needed and pointed out that his Company were one of the only that issues the appropriate certification. The information he provided was excellent and I decided to place an order with him. From the time of placing the order too pick up of the vehicle, Shaun kept me fully up to date with the progress. I run a business that operates between France, UK and South America but I live in France. I didn´t want to buy an American vehicle in France because they work out on average 10% dearer, so looked to suppliers in the UK. After some initial `bad vibes´ with what I can only describe as `here today, gone tomorrow cowboys´ and after being given the feeling that I was being done a favour in selling me a truck, by a large company based in Central London, I decided to have a chat with an American Car Club member who pointed me in the direction of Newport. Alleluia!!!Since my first contact with Newport they have been friendly, professional, efficient and above all reliable and provide an excellent after sales service. As initially stated it was 18 months before I bought a truck mostly due to French red tape, however despite the length of time involved, at no point did Newport stop working to help me get past all of the obstacles being put in the way by the French system. OK, so they were selling me a truck but I wonder how many other dealers would have stuck with me. I am sure most would have moved on to the more easy to satisfy customers. I bought my Cadillac XLR from Newport Imports earlier this year. My search for a new car led to me to look at American vehicles as there was simply nothing else that appealed to me. Having looked at what was on the American market, the Caddy XLR (a Merc SL competitor) seemed to be completely original and without even seeing one in the flesh, I decided it it was the car for me. That just left where I was going to buy one. A trawl of the internet led me to Newport Imports. To be honest, I was taking a bit of a gamble... I had no experience of American cars, and no real idea of how good Newport Imports were. But I do now. First of all, the Caddy is everything it is meant to be, and I am totally thrilled with it. Secondly, Newport Imports, in my opinion, offer a service which is light years ahead of any of the UK main dealers I have ever dealt with. Unlike my experience of VW, Toyota, Mercedes, Aston Martin, Land Rover and Jeep (but with the possible exception of Audi), these people actively focus on keeping the customer happy. From the moment I ordered my Caddy I knew I was in safe hands. I received a realistic delivery date, a constant update on where it was, it was delivered on time by a transporter driver who cared passionately about cars, and even tho there was a design fault with a steering part on the car, it was dealt with immediately and in person by Newport’s MD who drove 200 miles the same day to collect the car and have it rectified. It was back to me in a flash. Since that time, I have received calls to make sure I am happy more than once. I have never once received a call from any other UK main dealer, except Audi, to make sure I am happy. What’s more, it wasn’t just a PR agency, it was Newport itself and someone who knew the history of my order. Very impressive. I cannot recommend Newport highly enough, and I am so impressed with the Caddy (which has had no problems at all, not even a rattle or a squeak, only its initial steering part which was the subject of a recall) that I would readily buy another one. If anyone hesitates because they are buying an imported car and are worried about the after-sale support, don’t... You will never get better support than from these people.
